Research on integration technology in
CAM under virtual manufacturing

Abstract CAD/CAPP/CAM/MPS (machining process simulation) is a key point in virtual manufacturing. Automatic machining under Pro/E has been realized for non-rotate parts based on STEP and information integration among CAD, CAM, CAPP and MPS. Moreover, it also provides information for machining process simulation and NC generation. With the help of part modeling from CAD and process planning from CAPP, machining functions in Pro/E are further developed by redesigning the information retrieval for CAM to finish the seamless integration among CAD, CAPP, CAM and MPS. High integrity and flexibility are showed in real applications. Finally, it greatly reduces working load of engineers.
